Myth 1: It fades and loses colour after sometime. Titanium di-oxide plays a critical role in providing UV stability and the pristine white colour to uPVC profiles. Sub-standard profile manufacturers use less percentage of this expensive chemical in their compound which is why their profiles fade easily and also have a pale or ivory-ish colour to start with. However, our profile partner VEKA sources the Titanium dioxide from a European supplier and uses it in the appropriate proportions which provides superior quality and resistance to fading. Due to this reason our profiles sport a beautiful white colour. Myth 2: uPVC profiles are not strong enough to withstand heavy wind pressure. All UPVC profiles are reinforced with a Steel (GI) Reinforcement. The size of the profiles and the size and thickness of the reinforcement play a critical role in the strength of the windows. Myth 3: UPVC windows are not fire-proof. No window material including Aluminium or timber is fire proof. However, UPVC profiles are self-extinguishing which means unlike timber they do not spread fire. Hence, upvc profiles qualify as a fire-retardant material.
